On Saturday, May 18, 2019, the Go Get It LIFE & Justin Ryan Books teams had the honor to participate in Project Graduation– a celebration of the young men and women graduating from foster care.  The event is hosted by the Center for Child Protection.

Go Get It LIFE & Justin Ryan Books donated Mindfulness Logbooks to all of the young men and women with the intention of the logbook serving as a resource in this time of transition. This donation was made possible by all who have previously purchased a Mindfulness Logbook as part of Go Get It LIFE’s mission to give back a portion of all sales proceeds.

The Center for Child Protection began serving children in the greater Austin, TX area in 1992.  Its mission is to reduce the trauma for children during the investigation and prosecution of crimes against children.

Heavy stuff.  Real stuff. In many cases, the Center is a first-stop for victim interviews and exams.

The Center works in conjunction with 19 law enforcement agencies, Child Protective Services, Dell Children’s Medical Center, and Travis County District Attorney’s Office.  Together, this team is a veil of protection and support for children and families enduring some of life’s greatest nightmares.

The Center is a nationally accredited children’s advocacy center and the only non-profit in Travis County (Texas) involved in the investigation of crimes against children. In 2018, nearly 1,600 children were served by the Center itself.

For more than 25 years, the Center has been the first stop for children in Travis County who are suspected victims of sexual abuse, physical abuse, neglect and for children who have witnessed a violent crime.

The Center is a child-friendly, specially-equipped facility where children go for recorded forensic interviews, medical exams, counseling and intervention during the investigation and prosecution of child abuse cases.

All services are provided to children and their protective caregivers at no charge and are available in English and Spanish.
